How to make hot chocholate

Last week Room 21 have learned how to write an instruction.
It is very cold these days so Miss Joo thought of a perfect instruction we can write!
How to make hot chocolate because we all love hot chocolate so much!
In instruction, we need to have the title, ingredients/tools, and numbered steps.
It was our first time writing an instruction but all of us tried our best!
Miss Joo also published our instruction and now they are displayed at the back of the classroom for the Writing wall.

Welcome back to Term Three!

Calendar Art

Last week we finished our calendar art.

We drew big Koru, some Maori patterns in the circle, and Matariki stars.

For the background, we did paper weaving.

They look magnificent!

Class award!

Today Room 21 got the class award at the Junior assembly!

Magnetic butterflies

Last week Room 21 decided to a fun art because we love doing art!
We made magnetic butterflies that we can use for notes on fridge.

First we drew patterns on butterfly template, then got a transparent card on top of the paper to trace lines with vivids.
When we finished, we coloured in using colourful vivids and cut them out.
Miss Joo helped us to put magnets on the butterfly.

The next day, our buddies from Room 1 helped putting antennae on our butterflies.

Arts week

Week 6 was "Arts week" so Room 21 did a variety of art during this week.

First picture is Samoan pattern art that we did last week with Mrs. Baldwin for Samoan language week. We enjoyed drawing different patterns of Samoa.

Second pictures are Giraffe silhouette art we did for Arts week.

Miss Joo read the picture book called "Giraffes can't dance" and we sketched giraffe pattern then coloured it with oil pastels. 

When we finished the pattern background, we cut out giraffe silhouette and glued it in the centre.

It was a hard work colouring the pattern with pastels but we all finished them beautifully!

Next picture is art we call "Crazy hair art" which was a lovely suggestion from Caleb.

Caleb brought the crazy hair art that he did at an afternoon art class and asked Miss Joo if we can do it together as a class, so on Friday, Miss Joo and Caleb showed how to do crazy hair art.

These are our excellent outcome of our crazy hair art. Some of us are still finishing off painting.

We all enjoyed creating different kinds of art this week and now our classroom is going to look very colourful with our awesome art so please come in and see them!
